Since the OOTB RSS in Sharepoint is really bad (e.g. no custom RSS for views), my team rewrote the RSS to be able to:

generate RSS from any collection of items accessible via Sharepoint's Object Model
generate RSS from any ODBC/OLEDB compliant database
make RSS a bit more compliant for any reader

Sharepoint e' ottima piattaforma per la gestione documentale e archiviazione documenti. Di certo non e' un applicativo ad hoc che fa un protocollo informatico completo oppure un sistema di Records Management confrome agli standard internazionali di default.

Bisogna lavorarci un po' su, ma i risultati possono essere ottimi, come nelle esperienze che ho fatto in passato: una Regione ed un Ente Internazionale, con migliaia di utenti e terabytes di documenti da gestire con Sharepoint, tra firma digitale, marca temporale, protocollo informatico, scannerizzazione, posta elettronica certificata (PEC), gestione email e fax, records management e standards europei MOREQ2.
